SSRPG Yearbook Term 24

Head Boy and Girl

 Jack Tyler Fritzera

Having proved himself as a trustworthy and respectable leader as Quidditch Captain for Gryffindor last term, it was no surprise when Jack Fritzera was asked to step up as head boy this year. Known for his friendly face, Jack proves that average is awesome too. A little bit on the gangly side, the  once shy and quiet Jack, has certainly come out of his shell a fair amount since he's been at Hogwarts, though he still takes a back seat more often than not, letting the rowdier types step forward before putting his hand out to rein everyone in again.Still, he's made many friends since he started at Hogwarts, even getting himself romantically entangled with the Slytherin female prefect, Reese Upstead and the two of them were voted 'Cutest Couple' this term.

He's quite studious, and can often be found with his head in a book, particularly if that book happens to be related to all things outer space. Jack is into Astronomy and he's quite good at helping others learn a thing or two about the skies and the celestial bodies floating around up there. His head is filled with useless and interesting information about astronomy. He also has quite the green thumb, doing well in Herbology too, though maybe thats because of a certain redheaded professor, the usual reason the boys of Hogwarts try so hard in Herbology.

Even though he's quiet, he's still quite the popular individual in his own way. He is well respected throughout the entire school and has shown his leadership skills through Quidditch and now this term as Head Boy, keeping the Prefects in line and running study sessions for the student body.

Olivia Zhang

Ravenclaw, Olivia Zhang, has not held any particular positions of power at Hogwarts up until this term, and so for those that don't know her it may have come as a surprise to see her with the much coveted Head Girl badge. Or not. Because after all, everyone knows Livvy. This witch, born in Taiwan, is a familar face around these parts. She lends her skills to the yearbook team and of course she's a familiar face on the Quidditch Pitch too. While she played Beater in the reserve positions for the past few terms, this term Livvy played starting chaser and did her best to support her team. Livvy on the pitch, regardless of the position she plays, is a comforting sight for most Ravenclaws. Her presence serves as a backbone for the team, just as it does off the field for the entire house.

Livvy has a lot of friends, and while she's a proud Ravenclaw, she counts members of all four houses amongst her closest friends. She's open-minded and friendly, caring, positive and cheerful, and these characteristics make her the perfect Head Girl. Olivia is artistic and musical. She enjoys drawing, painting, poetry, photography and literature, and she can play piano, violin and guitar.

"The thing about Livvy is that you can always count on her." Celandine Toussaint , 6th year prefect and friend of Livvy explains. "She's always there with a joke and a smile and she's really strong."

Gryffindor Prefects

Chris Joseph Potter

Opposite Gold Laksh for Gryffindor this term is long time prefect Chris Potter. Everyone knows Chris, this, his sixth year, is the third term that he’s held a badge and he’s still doing a great job keeping his housemates in line and proving that he’s got what it takes to lead Gryffindor. Always working hard and doing his best to earn points for his house, Chris is loyal and hardworking, but also tremendously brave and he cares about his friends. He likes meeting new people and making new friends and he never has a bad thing to say about anyone. He enjoys Quidditch and plays Beater for the Gryffindor house team. Gryffindor, of course, won the Quidditch cup this year and Chris definitely worked hard to help out with securing the cup, both by playing and by supporting his team and his captain.

Chris believes education is important and he helps others by running study sessions in the library and working with those who need a bit of extra help. He has an enormous respect for the abilities of others and always does his best to learn from others whenever he gets the chance, so he can help those who need it in return. This Gryffindor has a true appreciation for learning, and while he’ll tell you his favourite subjects are Care of Magical Creatures, Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, he’s also quick to admit that he has a bit more trouble with Astronomy, Divination, History of Magic, and yet he still does his best to learn and participate in class.

Its really no surprise that Chris was voted Mr. Hogwarts this term, in the company of his co-prefect. It seems everyone recognises that this term, its the Gryffindors who embody everything that it means to be a Hogwarts student.

“Chris is one of the nicest boys I’ve ever met. And probably one of the only ones who hasn’t ever tried to snog me without permission. I like that about him. He’s quite smart for a Gryffindor, at least, he tries really hard, and that counts for something I guess.” - Celandine Toussaint, Ravenclaw 6th Year Prefect.

Well he hasn't let that 'Gryffindor Bravery' kill him yet, so he's doing brilliantly." - Raiden Kururugi, Slytherin 5th Year Prefect

Gold Laksh

Ever seen a Gryffindor so shiny and fiery as Gold Laksh?  Don’t think you have. Nope. Not when you stop and double check how bright red that hair is, and her name is shiny too. So is her fashion sense. The girl knows how to work it and can usually be seen in high and stylish heels, despite the fact that she’s already tall without them. She is a fashion statement. Even though her hair is naturally a striking red, she plays it up with oranges and yellows, embodying fire and of course, Gryffindor house spirit.
She’s free with the compliments and yet they’re always so genuine. Gold Laksh is unapologetically herself but she’s the nicest girl you’re likely to meet. One of the smartest girls in the school, and a top points earner for her house, Gold still works hard. She’s not a slacker and not the type to rest on her laurels. She’s quick to offer help to anyone who needs it too, no matter what house they’re in. A proud Gryffindor, you’ll see Gold standing up for her housemates and encouraging them to be active members of the school community. She leads by example.
With a lot of friends, and quite a few boyfriends under her belt, you’d be forgiven for thinking that maybe her friendships aren’t as deep as they could be, simply because there are so many people she counts as friends. You’d be wrong though, each and every one of her friendships are true and deep, and she genuinely cares and makes an effort to be a good friend.

This 5th year is an intelligent student, so much so that she might have been a Ravenclaw if it wasn't for that Gryffindor-go-getter attitude. She always has something to say in classes, always participates and always helps anyone who can't quite grasp the subject matter. Gold is a great tutor and never talks down to anyone. She's the kind of person who always sees the beauty and strength within a person and always looks on the positive side of life.

"Oh Gold is amazing! She's like my best friend, I love her. She's an amazing prefect too. The perfect role-model." - Brody Summers, 5th Year Hufflepuff.

Hufflepuff Prefects

Torin Kristopher Kane

If you don't know Torin Kane, we want to know where you have been living. The Hufflepuff, known for his entourage of friends - especially female ones! - has been a prominent student and member of his house.

Greek by birth, Torin transferred to Hogwarts in his fourth year, and won instant trust and friendships. He has a huge number of pets, most prominently an owl called Cat, and two cats, called Toast and Nemo. He is also the proud owner of three adorable pygmy puffs, and a goat named after - we are certain - good friend and Slytherin Prefect, Reese Upstead!

Torin has made his mark on staff and students alike, since day one at Hogwarts. In his fourth year, the Hufflepuff almost drowned in Professor Bunbury's office, as he rescued her shoes from flood-water! It is not a surprise, that said, that Professor Bunbury is his favourite professor, and Herbology, his favourite subject. Torin says he has a fondness for Arithmancy, a subject many find difficult.

"I liked being a Prefect," Torin says, when asked how his first year as a Hogwarts Prefect, shaped up. "It was a lot of fun, and gave me a chance to meet more wonderful Puffs, as well as the Prefects of the other Houses." He says it helped him learn to shoulder responsibility - and get to know Co-Prefect Sarah Griffin, better.

Torin went through much in his fifth year, the subject of an Imperius Curse, but he showed his true, Hufflepuff spirit this year, as he fought and helped protect students, during the battle that rocked the end of the school term. "Being a Prefect gave me a better sense of leading people," the Hufflepuff said, speaking of how his time as a Prefect has helped him grow. He added that helping professors, planning and organizing events, and looking out for students helped him change for the better, as a person.

"To me, being a Prefect means working together to make your House and the school work better," the Hufflepuff declared. "It's helping Staff and leading your House. It's about enforcing house pride, and trying to get others to help as well. It's about being a team."

Torin can be seen on the Quidditch pitch - he plays beater for his house team - or tracked down for a talk in the grounds, where he spends much of his time - rarely ever alone!

Fun fact: Torin's sister, Danika Kane, is older than him by eight minutes!

Sarah Rose Griffin

The only known witch her in family, Sarah Griffin served Hufflepuff as its female prefect, this year. The Hufflepuff has established herself as a helpful, bright and loyal Hufflepuff, in her past five years at Hogwarts, and is known to be a good student.

Sarah owns an owl called Screech, a Pygmy Puff called Norman, and has a known liking for ice-cream. It is, in fact, what has led to some good friendships! She admits that she is not good with numbers and, for that reason, does not find Arithmancy a fun subject. Her approach is more hands-on, and perhaps that is why she lists Charms and Herbology as her top two classes.

Quite the reader, Sarah enjoys a good book, and muggle music. She has been known to be shy if you meet her for the first time, but that does not mean the Hufflepuff is not brave - only last term, Sarah helped keep merpeople from trying to take over the school. She proved her courage once again, this term, when she fought Remi in the corridors - unfortunately receiving several injuries in the process

"It was a tough first year as Prefect for me," the fifth year confirmed. "So many strange things happened, and most of the students were panicking when their friends went missing. We all had to try and keep calm and keep everyone else calm, which wasn't always easy." She added that she would like to think that she did a good job, though she admitted that it would have been nice to have simpler introduction to the job.

The Hufflepuff says that her time as a prefect, has changed her as a person. "Instead of just thinking about myself, and how my actions would affect people, I had to consider what all the other students were doing as well," she said, speaking of being a prefect. "It's made me more responsible, and open." She says that, to be a prefect, you have to "be the sort of person someone wouldn't mind going to if they need help, and I think that quality in me has been brought to the surface more."

She says her badge means the world to her. "I love being able to assist - whether it be the Professors on some task, or a student that is having problems." She calls the opportunity to be able to help people, the best part of being a prefect.

Sarah can be caught at the Hufflepuff table at mealtimes, in classes, or in the hallways.

Fun fact: Sarah was encouraged by her mother to attend Hogwarts, when her letter arrived

Ravenclaw Prefects

Miles Vorkosigan

Spazzy, energetic, and fun, these are the three words that this Prefect would use to describe himself, and it sums it up pretty well, right? To most, if not all of us, Miles Vorkosigan is a friend, partner, and simply amazing Ravenclaw. We certainly would not disagree here, and neither would Co-Prefect, Celandine Toussaint, "Miles is a cutie, except he doesn't always style his hair as well as he should. Ravenclaws totally need to have pride in their appearance, and sometimes he's too distracted by his girlfriend to make the effort. He's totally lucky that Fia doesn't care."

Celandine went on to add: "Oh and he's fun to work with as a prefect on account of he just does whatever I tell him he should do."

Aha, the best kind of man, right?

This 5th year, voted most likely to invent or discover something in the superlatives this term, is due to tackle his OWLs and even though his nature can be quite erratic, at least one professor appears to believe the boy is more than capable at doing well. He is a Ravenclaw after all.

"When he pays attention, he shows himself fairly well. I've got high expectations as most are aware, and Miles is up to scratch and quite capable of securing a pass in his OWLs, at least in History of Magic and Defense Against the Dark Arts. I can't presume to speak about his prowess in other subjects." Professor Truebridge, current Dueling and Defense professor and former History of Magic professor comments.

"Miles is a good friend, to anyone actually. He's so nice."  Brody Summers,  5th year Hufflepuff explains.

Aside from being well liked, and generally considered to be a friendly and capable,  if a little bit erratic, individual, Miles is also quite accident prone and has been in and out of the hospital wing several times.

"Don't run down the corridors because you're likely to fall or run into something. That's from personal experience. I run into things all the time." Miles explains in his usual twitchy way.

Celandine Elodie Toussaint

Celandine Toussaint is perhaps the most well known student in attendance at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Everyone, teachers and students alike, know and adore this Ravenclaw Prefect.

She's no longer the sugar hyped second year who, along with a group of friends, slid themselves down the moving staircase and right into detention. Although, she did admit that that was one of the most epic things that have happened to her so far in her Hogwarts career.

Nowadays, Cela is a little bit smarter about the tricks she pulls, or maybe she's just learned a few more distraction techniques. That pout looks familiar, Toussaint. Celandine has earned the hearts and respect of many of her fellow classmates and professors alike.

Miss Toussaint found herself  deeply involved in the trouble that came to a head this term. She was kidnapped and missing for three whole weeks, having managed to figure out before everyone else that things at the Hogs Head weren't quite what they seemed to be. We're all very thankful she was returned to us in one piece, a little wiser and perhaps even a little more reserved after the experience.

"She's a good person and friend, more often than not. We've had disagreements, and we've fought, but she's still one of my best friends. It's gonna be sad when she graduates next term, Hogwarts will be sending off one of its best." Raiden Kururugi, Fifth Year Slytherin Prefect.

"Celandine Toussaint. Ah..... yes. I will never forget her as a student. She is a clever, innovative, sweet little girl...er...young lady. She has natural abilities when it comes to working with plants... and people, you could say, and possibly even animals, considering that some people are no better than animals. Ahem." Anastasia Bunbury, Herbology Professor.

Do I sense next term's Head Girl in the making? I suppose we will just have to wait and see, but if you have been paying attention at all, you probably already know the answer.

Not everyone is cut out to be a Prefect, some of us prefer to be on the other side of the drama. Prefects are not perfect, but there are certainly lessons that can be learned from each one of them. According to Miss Toussaint, there are two very important things to remember, "Don't get snogged out of a tree when Professor Kazimeriz is right there. Be nice to boys who have crushes on you. It might not be your fault that you're pretty, but it isn't their fault either is it?"

Slytherin Prefects

Raiden Jae Kururugi

Raiden Kururugi returned as Slytherin male prefect, this year, his fifth at Hogwarts. Raiden faced more than his share of responsibilities and drama this school term - as a potions 'incident' left him kneazle-eared, and the Hogwarts population found itself at battle, against evil - but the Slytherin proved himself worthy of his badge, as he fought to protect his fellow students, and earned a place on the student leader board as a top-scorer for his house.

Of course, one cannot say that it has been all work and no play, for Raiden. He was often seen in the company of one, bright-eyed Ravenclaw by the name of Neptune Bott, something that proves - once again - how patient a person the Snake is.

"This term was... not fun," the Slytherin admitted, when asked of his experience as a school prefect this year. "Between a troublesome firstie, people constantly getting into fights, fighting with my best friend, friends disappearing and coming back hurt... it was a very stressful term. I'm a lot less trusting of people now."

Raiden might have grown more cautious and thoughtful after the events of this year, but that does not mean he became any less responsible or attentive, as far as his duties are concerned. He was there to aid students - house and non-house mates alike - help out first years, and do his house proud. The Prefect played beater for his house Quidditch team - though there, we have it on good authority, he was at a disadvantage because of his kneazle ears, which were pinched in the middle of a match.

When asked what being a Prefect means to him, Raiden said that, "It means being there when your fellow students need you, and standing up for them when they need it. It means protecting people to the best of your ability, and trying to be a good role model for everyone."

That, Raiden certainly did, and was. From being a good listener and knowing when to follow orders, to suffering injuries - especially a painful shoulder one - as he strove to safeguard his school, and its people, at the battle that the end of the school year saw, Raiden proved his worth as a Slytherin – and Hogwarts - student-leader.

"He was very brave," a first year Gryffindor says of Raiden. "I look up to him, and his kneazle ears. They’re cute, you know."

Fun Fact: Raiden’s favourite classes are Charms, Transfiguration, DADA and History of Magic.

Reese Selena Upstead

Reese Upstead took up the post of Slytherin female prefect, this year. Reese, who dated this year's Head Boy, Jack Fritzera, has a known love for chocolate frogs, and admits that, at home, she has more shoes than she has closet space!

The Snake, a fun, outgoing and intelligent person, has been a good student in her time at Hogwarts. She has a brother at Hogwarts - Hufflepuff Quidditch seeker, Jakers Upstead - and, time and again, has proved her courage, skills and efficiency. She was one of the students who held attacking merpeople at bay in her sixth year at Hogwarts. "Reese was a good prefect," Hufflepuff fifth year, Brody Summers says, of the Slytherin. "She held her authority well."

Unfortunately for Reese, this became harder as this school term progressed, due to the unfortunate events that took place at Hogwarts. The Slytherin was placed under the Imperius Curse, and helped the evil wizard, Remi - though, once the curse was lifted, she was a part of the student population that fought to stop Remi. "She was a reaaally excellent prefect all term, and what happened to her, was really, really unfortunate," says first year, Candy Sugarsticks. "I want to give her cookies."

"It was hard work, because I had to make sure everyone was in order in the corridors as well as the common room," Reese said, when asked how her experience as a prefect, had turned out to be. "Although we wish everyone could be a good student, there were some that put a lot of stress on me when it came to my duties, but it was okay. I enjoyed every moment being Prefect, even though it was a TON of responsibility."

Being a prefect "means a lot of things" to Reese. "But the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Prefects is helping," the Slytherin confirmed. "Helping others is the main goal. It's the older students that need to set an example, and what better than to help the younger students in whatever they need help in?"

Reese has shared an excellent relationship with staff and students in her time at Hogwarts, and continues to do so. "I was as surprised as anyone when it turned out Reese was cursed to help that intruder," Gryffindor Prefect Chris Potter said, reflecting popular opinion. "She had been a great prefect all term." He added that, "Hogwarts will miss her for sure!"

Fun fact: Reese is quite the animal lover - she has an owl named Icee, a pink pygmy puff named Bubbles, and a dog named Cam!
