Jack Tyler Fritzera
Having proved himself as a trustworthy and respectable leader as Quidditch Captain for Gryffindor last term, it was no surprise when Jack Fritzera was asked to step up as head boy this year. Known for his friendly face, Jack proves that average is awesome too. A little bit on the gangly side, the once shy and quiet Jack, has certainly come out of his shell a fair amount since he's been at Hogwarts, though he still takes a back seat more often than not, letting the rowdier types step forward before putting his hand out to rein everyone in again.Still, he's made many friends since he started at Hogwarts, even getting himself romantically entangled with the Slytherin female prefect, Reese Upstead and the two of them were voted 'Cutest Couple' this term.
He's quite studious, and can often be found with his head in a book, particularly if that book happens to be related to all things outer space. Jack is into Astronomy and he's quite good at helping others learn a thing or two about the skies and the celestial bodies floating around up there. His head is filled with useless and interesting information about astronomy. He also has quite the green thumb, doing well in Herbology too, though maybe thats because of a certain redheaded professor, the usual reason the boys of Hogwarts try so hard in Herbology.
Even though he's quiet, he's still quite the popular individual in his own way. He is well respected throughout the entire school and has shown his leadership skills through Quidditch and now this term as Head Boy, keeping the Prefects in line and running study sessions for the student body.
Ravenclaw, Olivia Zhang, has not held any particular positions of power at Hogwarts up until this term, and so for those that don't know her it may have come as a surprise to see her with the much coveted Head Girl badge. Or not. Because after all, everyone knows Livvy. This witch, born in Taiwan, is a familar face around these parts. She lends her skills to the yearbook team and of course she's a familiar face on the Quidditch Pitch too. While she played Beater in the reserve positions for the past few terms, this term Livvy played starting chaser and did her best to support her team. Livvy on the pitch, regardless of the position she plays, is a comforting sight for most Ravenclaws. Her presence serves as a backbone for the team, just as it does off the field for the entire house.
Livvy has a lot of friends, and while she's a proud Ravenclaw, she counts members of all four houses amongst her closest friends. She's open-minded and friendly, caring, positive and cheerful, and these characteristics make her the perfect Head Girl. Olivia is artistic and musical. She enjoys drawing, painting, poetry, photography and literature, and she can play piano, violin and guitar.
"The thing about Livvy is that you can always count on her." Celandine Toussaint , 6th year prefect and friend of Livvy explains. "She's always there with a joke and a smile and she's really strong."
Spazzy, energetic, and fun, these are the three words that this Prefect would use to describe himself, and it sums it up pretty well, right? To most, if not all of us, Miles Vorkosigan is a friend, partner, and simply amazing Ravenclaw. We certainly would not disagree here, and neither would Co-Prefect, Celandine Toussaint, "Miles is a cutie, except he doesn't always style his hair as well as he should. Ravenclaws totally need to have pride in their appearance, and sometimes he's too distracted by his girlfriend to make the effort. He's totally lucky that Fia doesn't care."
Celandine went on to add: "Oh and he's fun to work with as a prefect on account of he just does whatever I tell him he should do."
Aha, the best kind of man, right?
This 5th year, voted most likely to invent or discover something in the superlatives this term, is due to tackle his OWLs and even though his nature can be quite erratic, at least one professor appears to believe the boy is more than capable at doing well. He is a Ravenclaw after all.
"When he pays attention, he shows himself fairly well. I've got high expectations as most are aware, and Miles is up to scratch and quite capable of securing a pass in his OWLs, at least in History of Magic and Defense Against the Dark Arts. I can't presume to speak about his prowess in other subjects." Professor Truebridge, current Dueling and Defense professor and former History of Magic professor comments.
"Miles is a good friend, to anyone actually. He's so nice." Brody Summers, 5th year Hufflepuff explains.
Aside from being well liked, and generally considered to be a friendly and capable, if a little bit erratic, individual, Miles is also quite accident prone and has been in and out of the hospital wing several times.
"Don't run down the corridors because you're likely to fall or run into something. That's from personal experience. I run into things all the time." Miles explains in his usual twitchy way.
Celandine Elodie Toussaint
Celandine Toussaint is perhaps the most well known student in attendance at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Everyone, teachers and students alike, know and adore this Ravenclaw Prefect.
She's no longer the sugar hyped second year who, along with a group of friends, slid themselves down the moving staircase and right into detention. Although, she did admit that that was one of the most epic things that have happened to her so far in her Hogwarts career.
Nowadays, Cela is a little bit smarter about the tricks she pulls, or maybe she's just learned a few more distraction techniques. That pout looks familiar, Toussaint. Celandine has earned the hearts and respect of many of her fellow classmates and professors alike.
Miss Toussaint found herself deeply involved in the trouble that came to a head this term. She was kidnapped and missing for three whole weeks, having managed to figure out before everyone else that things at the Hogs Head weren't quite what they seemed to be. We're all very thankful she was returned to us in one piece, a little wiser and perhaps even a little more reserved after the experience.
"She's a good person and friend, more often than not. We've had disagreements, and we've fought, but she's still one of my best friends. It's gonna be sad when she graduates next term, Hogwarts will be sending off one of its best." Raiden Kururugi, Fifth Year Slytherin Prefect.
"Celandine Toussaint. Ah..... yes. I will never forget her as a student. She is a clever, innovative, sweet little girl...er...young lady. She has natural abilities when it comes to working with plants... and people, you could say, and possibly even animals, considering that some people are no better than animals. Ahem." Anastasia Bunbury, Herbology Professor.
Do I sense next term's Head Girl in the making? I suppose we will just have to wait and see, but if you have been paying attention at all, you probably already know the answer.
Not everyone is cut out to be a Prefect, some of us prefer to be on the other side of the drama. Prefects are not perfect, but there are certainly lessons that can be learned from each one of them. According to Miss Toussaint, there are two very important things to remember, "Don't get snogged out of a tree when Professor Kazimeriz is right there. Be nice to boys who have crushes on you. It might not be your fault that you're pretty, but it isn't their fault either is it?"
Raiden Kururugi returned as Slytherin male prefect, this year, his fifth at Hogwarts. Raiden faced more than his share of responsibilities and drama this school term - as a potions 'incident' left him kneazle-eared, and the Hogwarts population found itself at battle, against evil - but the Slytherin proved himself worthy of his badge, as he fought to protect his fellow students, and earned a place on the student leader board as a top-scorer for his house.
Of course, one cannot say that it has been all work and no play, for Raiden. He was often seen in the company of one, bright-eyed Ravenclaw by the name of Neptune Bott, something that proves - once again - how patient a person the Snake is.
"This term was... not fun," the Slytherin admitted, when asked of his experience as a school prefect this year. "Between a troublesome firstie, people constantly getting into fights, fighting with my best friend, friends disappearing and coming back hurt... it was a very stressful term. I'm a lot less trusting of people now."
Raiden might have grown more cautious and thoughtful after the events of this year, but that does not mean he became any less responsible or attentive, as far as his duties are concerned. He was there to aid students - house and non-house mates alike - help out first years, and do his house proud. The Prefect played beater for his house Quidditch team - though there, we have it on good authority, he was at a disadvantage because of his kneazle ears, which were pinched in the middle of a match.
When asked what being a Prefect means to him, Raiden said that, "It means being there when your fellow students need you, and standing up for them when they need it. It means protecting people to the best of your ability, and trying to be a good role model for everyone."
That, Raiden certainly did, and was. From being a good listener and knowing when to follow orders, to suffering injuries - especially a painful shoulder one - as he strove to safeguard his school, and its people, at the battle that the end of the school year saw, Raiden proved his worth as a Slytherin – and Hogwarts - student-leader.
"He was very brave," a first year Gryffindor says of Raiden. "I look up to him, and his kneazle ears. They’re cute, you know."
Fun Fact: Raiden’s favourite classes are Charms, Transfiguration, DADA and History of Magic.
Reese Selena UpsteadReese Upstead took up the post of Slytherin female prefect, this year. Reese, who dated this year's Head Boy, Jack Fritzera, has a known love for chocolate frogs, and admits that, at home, she has more shoes than she has closet space!
